Got out with Rat and Birdie tonight and had a great time. Ended up over at Rat's house where we watched Star Trek the new movie and enjoyed it even as we discussed it's merits against the old shows.
Birdie had the hardest time working Rat's DVD player but by the end of the night we'd finally figured it out... Rat's dvd player needed special treatment... oral stimulation apparently. lol

If you read my last entry then you'll get this... I'm a goody two shoes again! lol Apparently the member reconsidered blocking me and so now I"m pure as a virgin (again) on the blocked list!
Blocking folks is everyone's right here and I fully support it for folks who try to bother a member in any form.
I have no one blocked because it takes an awful lot to bug me and very little online is capable of that my delete button works wonderfully too.

I found myself on a block list tonight yep my very first one. I closed a thread that was not in the proper forum nor met the criteria for a thread so I closed it suggesting it would be better suited as a journal entry. Apparently unable to accept that their recourse was to block me. Not really sure why since I never sent them a message nor rated them either but hey if it makes them feel empowered I guess it works. I was polite and didn't try to make the member feel bad or stupid, that's not my way but I still must have done so.
Guess I'm not the goody two shoes around here anymore :)
But I would have had much more respect for this member if they had chosen to message me and discuss the matter.

My sister will be having surgery (out-patient) this friday, I go tomorrow to see another surgeon and all I can say is he won't be doing anything this Friday. lol
She's very upset since the surgeon wants her off work for 1 week and it being the end of the year she's out of sick time and her boss made her take the few days of vacation she'd saved for an emergency last month or else she lost them. Now she's going into the surgery, facing a week without pay and it's got her worried sick.
I've told her we'll make it but things are tight that's for sure.
The following is just me draining my feelings about my house at the moment so you might want to skip it.
On another note, it's very strange in Umbrae Octo right now. There's been nothing but quiet from most of the older members of the house and only one of the AHM's is showing up every now and again. At least she tells us her new job is what is keeping her away.
But we have several new members and a few of the ones who've been there a while wanting an active house and they deserve it.
But I admit I'm feeling a bit strange making decisions on my own as it were. We are a democratic run house where the members get a vote in who comes in and the rectors of the halls especially are supposed to vote but in the last 4 new members I'm it!
I really hope Sab comes back soon, some of the links on the house pages from his photobucket account are broken and I've no way to fix them. Since these are pages he designed himself I hesitate to make major changes but I also hate for the house to look bad.
I feel like I'm overstepping my boundaries but end up questioning every decision I make as to should I or shouldn't I. I just hope Sab approves of what I've done when he comes back to UO. Guess I'll find out but at least he won't send me to Purgatory :)

For such a rough last week, the weekend turned out really good. Early Sat my sister and I and her 2 kids along with my nephew's wife and their 2 boys, 7 and 9 went out shopping for x-mas lights to decorate this year and to browse the toy departments of course.
What we also did was run into about 5 people or couples we know but haven't seen in a while. We ended up standing around chatting more than looking and the kids let us know that wasn't cutting it! but they got their looking time in and their lists for Santa are under way. lol
Sat afternoon, I went out with Rat and Birdy, first to our other friend's book signing at a local book store and then to the Italian place they've been wanting to get me to try and it was just as great as they had said. Oh my was it...
Then back over to Rat's were we watched a movie, talked our heads off had some fresh baked cookies and wassail (which was delicious) then when I got back home I found my sister and Chris my oldest nephew's wife had put the christmas tree up and a lot of the decorations. The house looks really cool and the tree while very large is beautiful. I'll add a picture here asap.

Home again with good news and so so news. The doctor was able to remove a small growth down my throat but confirmed visually that a larger tumor is there too. So he's sending me on to University of KY med center to a thoracic surgeon to have a biopsy done. He did say that to his eye it didn't look like cancer but won't let me accept that (not that I would) he will have me set up next week to see the new doctor and get it done. So right now other than being extremely sleepy and having a slight sore throat I'm doing good. I do suspect I'll go to sleep really early tonight. lol

I confess to a few nerves about tomorrow's procedure. I'm not so much afraid of the actual surgery but of what it may find. I'm fighting really hard not to let any negative thoughts take hold and to stick in my mind. But then today I got another call from my general care doctor wanting to make sure I was following up on the abnormal test results. I told them yes, had 2 tests done and the big one for tomorrow and he was like good as long as you're not trying to put this off or anything.
This hit me two ways, one, I was glad he was staying on top of my chart even though he didn't order these tests himself and two, it must be bad for them to continue to call me making sure I'm taking care of it.
Kind of ominous sounding ain't it? lol Either way by Friday I should know something even if it's just more tests are needed. I'll be glad to get it over with right now.
